Social media and mental health in adolescence
The use of social media has grown exponentially in recent years, and young people use them to express their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This project investigates the effects of social media use on mental health outcomes and the role of potential mediators to explain these relationships. Moreover, interdisciplinary methods are used to analyze data available in social networking sites to detect first indicators of mental health problems in terms of abnormalities in activity- and communication-pattern.
